At 13 Tarikua Lemma was "adopted" but not very legally. Her mother had died during childbirth but she still had her father and 2 younger sisters. Friends of her fathers worked at an adoption agency in Ethiopia. In 2006 her fathers "friends" convinced him into believing that he would send his daughters to america for a learning program and they would come home every summer and other breaks. But really his "friends" were being paid to get children for the american adoption agency. The family that had adopted them had also been lied to they were told that the 3 kids were AIDS orphans and that Tarikua was 9. which was all wrong. Their new parents changed their names and they were now not allowed to speak their old language. She then got sent to a new home without her sisters and she has been changing homes since. She is now trying to raise money to go back to her family in Ethiopia.

8 year old dead
Yemen's human rights minister wants to have child marriage outlawed after an 8 year old girl was reported dead of internal injuries that happened o n her wedding night. A reporter released that a girl named Rawan from Hardh, Yemen had died a days after being married to a 40 year old man. So many people were just horrified and outraged which rose people against the controversial issue of child marriage that is still llegal in Yemen. The believed cause of her death was internal bleeding which they believe is from sexual intercourse that tore her uterus and other organs. Officials though are still denying the story. Many Yemenis are forced to sell off their little girls to wealthy older men. Though when Rawans father was brought in for questioning he brought in a little girl who is named Rawan. most people are thinking that the girl was buried secretly. In Yemen over half the girls are married before they are 18 and about 14% are married before 15.
